Oakland County Animal Control

Some may refer to Oakland county wildlife control as animal control. At Michigan Wildlife Solutions we think of animal control as more of a domestic service. We deal with many types of wildlife, but never domestic animals like dogs or cats. A lot of calls come to us thinking we are a Oakland County, MI animal control officer, but we are strictly wildlife or pest control specialists. In early spring we have run into to several wildlife control issues and would like to share them with you.

Because of the early warm weather this year we are already receiving calls for nuisance animal pest awaking from their hibernation. Many animals in the wild go into hibernation late fall and sleep the winter days away. Bats in Michigan are one of the most common mammal sleepers through out the cold winters. There just isn't the food source to keep these animals a live. When warm weather hits, bats move up and down your walls and through the walls to find exit points outside. Bats usually awake during the late months of April in search of food. When bug larva hatches there becomes an abundance of food source for them to survive. Unlike most animals in Michigan including raccoons, squirrels, mice, skunks can be baited into live traps. Bats are not like other Michigan animals and can only be extracted when it is time for them to leave. Bat exclusions are performed through the four seasons of Michigan, but typically bats do not leave during the winter months.

Warm weather in Oakland County, MI has brought out many other nuisance pest besides bats this year. Are most common calls this time of year are because raccoons are mating and having babies. Raccoons in the attic or raccoons in the fireplace is most commone. Also squirrels run out of food source and begin to scamper through the house looking for nuts, pine cones, and other sources of food. Chewing and scratching are what we hear most.

Animal control in Michigan should be considered more than dog and cat catchers. Think wildlife control when thinking of animal control in Oakland County, MI. Squirrels, skunks, birds, mice, rats, bats, raccoons, fox, coyotes, and many other wildlife may be a problem to you at some point. Knowing how to get rid of nuisance wildlife is most important for wildlife control in Oakland County, MI. You may want to consider hiring a professional services for your pest control problems.
